Today we were challenged to make a boat that has to float so it could save all the bugs from the grasshoppers. We had to think about different materials and grouping them. We predicted which materials we thought would float and if any would sink.
We tested our ideas and soon found out which materials were best to use for our boats. We carefully thought about how we would need to attach them together and how much weight was ideal to have on them.
We have been thinking about what technology is and that is isn't just about iPads and mobile phones. Technology can also be things that people have designed to help us and to make our lives easier. We did a super job at looking at all the different pieces of technology around the classroom and garden and writing them all down. Some of us chose to take photos of the technology and insert them into Pic Collage and write about them... wow!
Today we went to Yorkshire Wildlife Park and it was absolutely incredible. We had the best experience with our friends seeing all of the wonderful enclosures. We thought the bus journey was very exciting and we enjoyed our picnic lunch. Some lovely memories to treasure.
Miss Broxholme is SO proud of us today because we worked our socks off! We learnt how to critique a friends work. We used our animal paintings which we did this week and had to write some warm feedback about it and a nice suggestion for how they could make their painting even better.
We learnt that there are three rules to critique and we loved sharing these with one another.
Today we talked about how we are going to stay safe when we go to Yorkshire Wildlife park. We worked in teams and came up with some amazing suggestions. Miss Mumby wrote them all down on a huge piece of paper and we were all able to say how we will stay safe.
Today Miss Broxholme left her friend Dash for us to play with. We used the iPad to programme him around the farmyard. We loved this and had so much fun. He was very silly because he kept bumping into the animals and knocking them over.
