Christmas Dinner Day

Today has been so exciting and festive!

First of all we were left some treats from Joe the elf for completing subtraction calculations yesterday. Then we enjoyed our Christmas dinner at lunch time. We sat with our friends, listened to Christmas music and had our own cracker to pull.

Then after school was our Christmas fair which was just wonderful!

Calculations

Today Joe was not a happy elf! Someone touched his hat yesterday and we were very unsure whether he would return to the North Pole again and so he trashed the classroom! In order to make him happy again we had to solve lots of subtraction calculations. This was really tricky but then we all got it and were independently solving calculations. Brilliant.

Joe also left us a note saying if we did a good job, he would leave us some treats. I wonder what they could be?

Christmas Fun

Joe paid us a visit again today, however this time he was so cheeky and unpegged lots of the alphabet! Before we went to lunch we worked really hard to peg the alphabet back up in the right order. When we returned from lunch Joe had pulled them down again!!! This time he was hanging upside down. So cheeky.

This afternoon we had lots of fun collaging lots of different Christmas pictures.

Christmas at Rand Farm

Wowzers! What an incredible day we have had! The excitement was just absolutely amazing and we had the BEST time!

First of all we got to travel on a double decker bus! We loved this and we even sat on the top deck!

When we arrived, these lovely people helped us throughout all the different activities and they do a good job looking after all the animals on the farm.

We got to have a look at the gorgeous rabbits and guinea pigs and got to hold and stroke them!

We had lots of times around the farm feeding the animals, stroking them and giving the calves some milk. They were so cute!

One of the BEST parts was seeing Santa and his beautiful grotto. In there were his Reindeer, a nativity scene, places to write and post letters to the North Pole and also a chance to make our own reindeer food.

The Santa Express tractor ride was lots of fun and we saw Sheep and Cows.

To make our day even better we got to play in the indoor and outdoor areas.

Wow! What a day!

Elf on the Shelf

We had a VERY exciting delivery this morning. An elf arrived from the North Pole. He left a lovely book to go with him requesting us to give him a name. After lots of discussion and sharing ideas we decided to call him Joe (Joey).

Each day, Joe watches us to see how we get on and he flies back to the North Pole every night ti catch up with Santa and the rest of the elves. One request he did have is that we MUST not touch him otherwise he will lose some of his magic.

He also left us 2 advent calendars to have each day. We are very lucky.
