Easter Bonnet Parade

It was lovely to see so many entries in the Easter Bonnet parade. I loved seeing all the amazing ideas and all the children did so well. We had a really nice week learning about the celebration of Easter. 

Mother's Day

This week we have been doing lots of lovely activities for our Mummies. We have made some special cards and gifts to give to our grown ups. We have also been writing some notes and lots of reasons why we love our Mummy. We are very kind and thoughtful in FS2. 

Character Party

Today was our final outcome of our project this term. We have been working hard to answer the question; 'what is my character?'

We each came dressed as our favourite character and we had a SURPRISE visit from Princess Poppy. It was the best day ever. We played lots of games, ate lots of tasty food and danced, danced, danced. 

What a fabulous way to end our project! 

In the Garden

Today we really enjoyed the sunshine in the garden. We were working hard to help to tidy the garden up by getting rid of lots of weeds. We also enjoyed hunting for bugs and making ladybird homes. We googled where ladybirds live and then used lots of grass, soil and bark to make them a home. 

Minion Cakes

We absolutely loved baking some Minion cupcakes. We thought carefully about hygiene and knew we needed to wash our hands with soap, we weighed out the ingredients, added it all into a bowl and mixed it together. We watched them rise in the oven and decorated them with blue icing when they were done. Then we added to chocolate chips to make the eyes. 

Phonics Skills

We did another group session working on our Phonics skills this morning. We independently worked around different stations to work on reading words, writing sentences, distinguishing the differences between real and alien words and hunting for red words in books. 

Minion Maths!

We have had an exciting visit from Gru today. He told us that we he wanted to have more Minions to do some more jobs but they didn't have any eyes. Our job was to practise counting out an amount of eyes to match some number cards. We have been absolutely amazing at this! 

Then Miss Broxholme, told us the minions might feel like the odd ones out if they didn't all have the same amount of eyes and so we practised sharing them evenly. 

World Book Day

Wow! What an amazing day we had dressing up as our favourite book character. We also really enjoyed doing lots of book themed activities and inviting our parents in for hot chocolate and a biscuit.
