We have worked so hard with our numbers recently. We have been working really well with a partner to help us to practise them.

Addition
This week we learnt how to solve addition calculations. First of all we practised by using objects, then we added numbers together using a number line. Then we tried using our fingers. We were brilliant and really enjoyed ourselves.
Friday PE Fun
We are absolutely loving our Friday PE sessions. We have learnt that we need to warm our muscles up and raise outré heart rate. Then afterwards we need to cool down and stretch.
We worked in teams and completes some circuits. They involved: skipping, jumping in the ladder, throwing and catching, hula hoops, star jumps and balancing the quoits.

Anti-Bullying Week
Last week we did lots of different things to help us to learn about anti-bullying. We all sat together and came up with some ideas about making sure we are an anti-bullying class and school. We came up with some great suggestions about ways to keep us happy at school and to make sure we have friends.
Here are some of our ideas...
Outside we made a house for the Hungry Caterpillar to help him to have some friends. We cut up lots of pieces of food and shared them out so that each person had an equal amount of food so nobody would feel left out. Inside the house we made friendship wall with lots of kind messages on to cheer the Caterpillar up.
Then at the end of the week we made a piece of artwork for the classroom to show we are all different, but it is good to be different. Being different makes us unique although we are all equal!
We LOVED Anti-Bullying week!

Hungry Caterpillar Challenge
Today we received a challenge from the Hungry Caterpillar...
We were amazing at thinking of ideas for all the different things we could do to help the Caterpillar to feel happy again. We wrote notes and letters and drew pictures that said "don't be sad, I will be your friend."
We also cut out lots of different pictures of food which we posted in the post box for Caterpillar to eat. We said if we posted them, he would come and find them whilst we were eating our lunch!

Maths Fun!
We have had lots of fun in Maths this week. When Miss Mumby was teaching us we worked with a partner and a dice. We had to roll the dice to each other, count the dots, say the number and then jump to the number. It was lots of fun.
We have done lots of maths through play also. We love cars in Reception and so we decided to use a number line to help our cars to travel. We were able to say one more and one less than the numbers.
Alongside this, we absolutely love making towers! We make towers nearly every day. Miss Broxholme always challenges us to estimate how many cubes we have used. We then check the cubes to see how far off we were from our estimations. Some of us were starting to add 1 or 2 more cubes to extend our towers.
