This week we learnt about the meaning of Bonfire night and Guy Fawkes. We were really interested in the events of what happened between Guy Fawkes and the King. From this, we decided we wanted to create our own bonfire outside and make a Guy Fawkes to put on the top of it. We thought it would be a good idea to use a pumpkin for its head.
We talked about how families celebrate Bonfire Night and also some foods which people eat such as hot dogs and toffee/chocolate apples.
We watched some videos of fireworks which were so beautiful. We looked at all the patterns they made and also the different noises. We loved the noisy rockets the most. We have done lots of different crafts linked to fireworks such a painting them, drawing them and even making our own rockets!
Some of us decided to make a bonfire cafe. We made hot dogs, ice creams and popcorn for people to buy. Then we made labels and bonfire cafe signs. After, we took the food around the garden to see if children wanted any.
Oh, and we even made some delicious chocolate apples!
What a busy, busy week!
